Tips for choosing rehab in Cambodia

Those suffering from addiction in Cambodia and their families are well aware of the terrible and damaging effects of addiction disease that does terrible damage to the lives of addicts and their families. Fortunately, there are a number of affordable, world class addiction treatment centers within traveling distance of Cambodia.

The perfect treatment for one recovering person in Cambodia will not be effective for another, so it’s important to choose the right rehab for you. The right rehab program in Cambodia or elsewhere will ensure that you complete the program successfully, go back to Cambodia sober and maintain a healthy, long lasting recovery.

Choosing a rehab in Cambodia or elsewhere can be difficult because each rehab has different specialties.

The following steps will help you choose the right rehab in Cambodia or elsewhere for you and your specific needs:

  • decide from which substances and behaviors you want to recover
  • determine whether there is a problem underlying the substance or behavior from which you are recovering
  • is detox in Cambodia enough or are you looking to fully recover
  • decide whether local rehab in Cambodia is enough
  • look at all the options including the top 10 rated rehabs for Cambodia above

There are many factors that determine which rehab in Cambodia is best for your circumstances, and some factors are more important than others.

There are two types of rehabilitation facilities in Cambodia:

  • inpatient rehab in Cambodia, where patients remain in a rehabilitation facility
  • outpatient rehab in Cambodia, where they stay at home and receive daytime treatment

Both have many advantages and disadvantages, and the right choice really depends on the needs of the individual in Cambodia. In general, inpatient treatment in Cambodia and elsewhere has a significantly higher success rate, but is also generally more expensive. Conversely, outpatient treatment in Cambodia is cheaper, allows patients to maintain more of their normal daily routine though generally has a lower success rate.

CambodiaTreatment centers have the ability to specialize in different areas of addiction, such as mental health, substance abuse and addiction treatment.  It is possible to choose a rehabilitation facility that specializes in treating patients with specific needs and has a positive track record. There are a number of treatment options for drug and alcohol addiction in Cambodia, from mental health to substance misuse and addiction therapy.

There are different schools of thought when it comes to whether it is ideal to choose a rehab in Cambodia or travel to one in a different part of the country or even abroad. Of course, an addiction treatment center close to home in Cambodia is more convenient and can be a necessary choice. Rehab away from Cambodia is also very beneficial, as it breaks up toxic relationships and routines that encourage drinking and drug use.

How long does rehab in Cambodia last?

Most treatment programs in Cambodia last 30, 60 or 90 days, but there are many other options. Many experts recommend a 60 to 90-day program, as they believe that 30 days is not long enough to adequately address a problem of substance abuse. However, there are many options for long-term treatment in Cambodia, such as outpatient, outpatient, and residential programs.

What does rehab in Cambodia cost?

For many people who seek treatment in Cambodia, cost is an important factor in choosing the right rehab, and longer rehab periods are an option for many patients. The truth is that the cost of rehab in Cambodia can vary depending on the type of treatment and the program the patient is participating in.1https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7215253/

It is also important to remember that the financial burden of long-term addiction is much greater than that of rehab in Cambodia. Once you have considered all the options, it is time to compare and contrast the investments.

Many rehabs on the Worlds top 10 list serve guests from Cambodia. Certain clinics, like the famous REMEDY wellbeing are well known for providing exceptional care in luxury surroundings at an affordable cost.

Alcohol Treatment in Cambodia

Cambodia (; also Kampuchea /ˌkæmpʊˈə/; Khmer: កម្ពុជា, Kâmpŭchéa [ˈkampuciə]), officially the Kingdom of Cambodia, is a country located in the southern portion of the Indochinese Peninsula in Southeast Asia, spanning an area of 181,035 square kilometres (69,898 square miles), bordered by Thailand to the northwest, Laos to the north, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest. The capital and largest city is Phnom Penh.

The sovereign state of Cambodia has a population of over 17 million. Buddhism is enshrined in the constitution as the official state religion, and is practised by more than 97% of the population. Cambodia’s minority groups include Vietnamese, Chinese, Chams and 30 hill tribes. Cambodia has a tropical monsoon climate of two seasons, and the country is made up of a central floodplain around the Tonlé Sap lake and Mekong Delta, surrounded by mountainous regions. The capital and largest city is Phnom Penh, the political, economic and cultural centre of Cambodia. The kingdom is an elective constitutional monarchy with a monarch, currently Norodom Sihamoni, chosen by the Royal Council of the Throne as head of state. The head of government is the Prime Minister, currently Hun Sen, the longest serving non-royal leader in Southeast Asia, who has ruled since 1985.

The region now known as Cambodia has been inhabited since prehistoric times. In 802 AD, Jayavarman II declared himself king, uniting the warring Khmer princes of Chenla under the name “Kambuja”. This marked the beginning of the Khmer Empire, which flourished for over 600 years. The Indianised kingdom facilitated the spread of first Hinduism and then Buddhism to much of Southeast Asia and undertook many religious infrastructural projects throughout the region. Angkor Wat is the most famous of these structures and is designated as a World Heritage Site. In the fifteenth century, Cambodia experienced a decline of power, while its neighbors Vietnam and Thailand grew stronger. In 1863, Cambodia became a protectorate of France, and later was part of French Indochina.

After a period of Japanese occupation during the Second World War, Cambodia gained independence from France in 1953. Despite Cambodia’s neutrality, the Vietnam War extended into the country in 1965 via the Ho Chi Minh and Sihanouk trails. A 1970 coup installed the US-aligned Khmer Republic, until being overthrown by the Khmer Rouge in 1975. The Khmer Rouge ruled the country and carried out the Cambodian genocide from 1975 until 1979, when they were ousted in the Cambodian–Vietnamese War. The Vietnamese-occupied People’s Republic of Kampuchea became the de facto government, with attempts to rebuild the country after the genocide mired by limited international recognition and ongoing conflict.

Following the 1991 Paris Peace Accords which formally ended the war with Vietnam, Cambodia was governed briefly by a United Nations mission (1992–93). The UN withdrew after holding elections in which around 90 percent of the registered voters cast ballots. The 1997 coup d’état consolidated power under Prime Minister Hun Sen and the Cambodian People’s Party, who remain in power.

The United Nations designates Cambodia as a least developed country. Cambodia is a member of the United Nations, ASEAN, the RCEP, the East Asia Summit, the WTO, the Non-Aligned Movement and La Francophonie. Although constitutionally a multi-party state, the political system de-facto centres around a single political party, the Cambodian People’s Party. While per capita income remains low compared to most neighboring countries, Cambodia has one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia. Agriculture remains the dominant economic sector, with strong growth in textiles, construction, garments, and tourism leading to increased foreign investment and international trade. Rich in biodiversity and seasonal tropical forests, Cambodia has a high rate of deforestation and is considered among the most vulnerable countries to climate change. Foreign observers have highlighted corruption, poverty and human rights as major issues in the country.

  • Cravings
